Here is a list of the 3 Step Sparring actions and movements we learn in TaeKwonDo
- 3 x out-to-in block, stepping back with left leg first delivering block with right arm. After 3rd block:
- Step up to deliver one of the following attacks
- Right piltrum strike
- Right temple strike
- Right knife hand strike
- Step up to deliver one of the following attacks
- 3 x knife hand block, stepping back with right leg in back stance. After 3rd block deliver one of the following attacks:
- Step left leg out into forward stance clearing the attackers arm then deliver one of the following,
- Right middle punch
- Right horizontal spear
- Left snap kick, right high punch
- (switch feet) Right kick, right piltrum-level palm heel strike
- Step left leg out into forward stance clearing the attackers arm then deliver one of the following,
- 3 x knife hand block, stepping back with left leg first delivering block with right arm. After 3rd block deliver one of the following attacks
- first attack:
- clear attacker’s arm with right hand
- extend left arm while pulling right hand back to hip to prepare for attack
- right punch to floating rib in fixed back stance
- second attack:
- step out with left leg into horse riding stance
- clear attacker’s arm with right hand
- extend right arm while pulling left hand back to hip to prepare for attack
- left then right double punch to floating ribs
- first attack:
- 3 x knife hand block, stepping back with left leg first delivering block with right arm. After 3rd block deliver attack
- hold attacker’s wrist
- right side kick to floating ribs
